Sibaúma is a village originated from an old quilombo, which keeps its traditions and the fighting spirit of its people. Fishing is one of the main activities, but tourism is coming to the site, which already has some hostels and very nice beach bars.
Sibauma can be reached by bike, van, car or buggy, accesses are many and depends on where you are coming from. The river Catú provides beautiful landscape of smooth water and wind, ideal for learning or practice sailing (kite surf / windsurf). The Catú can be crossed on foot at low tide. To cross by car, just get the ferry, or drive through a local shrimp farm.
